Manchester City Wanna Keep Winning

Manchester City’s run of four EPL titles in a row ended last season when Liverpool won the trophy. Pep Guardiola’s men finished third, their worst achievement in the Prem since 2017.

This season, they’re determined to do better. They’ve started the new campaign with a massive 4:0 win over Wolves on the road. Somewhat surprisingly, they didn’t create too many chances that day, but all four of their shots on goal went in.

Two of those goals were scored by Erling Haaland, while the other two were the work of newcomers, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki. Those two are both midfielders, so the fact that they’ve started their Man City journey in excellent form is great news, given that Rodri keeps struggling with injuries.

Spanish midfielder played just 74 minutes in last season’s Premier League and was supposed to return for the 2025-26 season, but he got injured again. According to Guardiola, he might recover in time for the Man City vs. Tottenham game on August 23. Still, even without him, the Cityzens look good in the middle.

Tottenham Have Nothing to Lose

The Spurs are coming off their worst Premier League season ever. In fact, their worst finish in the English top tier was in 1977 when the competition was called Division 1.

Last season, they finished just above the relegation zone, so even if they do only slightly better this time around, it’s gonna be great. The only bright moment for the Spurs fans in the 2024-25 EPL was when they demolished Manchester City 4:0 on the road. Can they do it again?

The short answer is: no, they can’t. A longer answer is that, even though they’re planning to give war to the Cityzens, their roster just doesn’t seem capable of repeating the same thing again.

We think that Manchester City will steamroll Tottenham on August 23. Sure, the Spurs will try to fight back, and maybe even score a goal or two, but our prediction is that it won’t be enough to get anything out of this game.
